Here’s some stills and process for this Boxfort short I worked on with David Holm and Scott Hoch.

Process
Animation rigging. Using extruded splines so all morphing animation can be done by animating the splines to different shapes. Shape is then procedurally beveled so it always responds to the spline shape.
Animated textures by Scott Hoch, Redshift Shader Graph. Textures colored using nodes, and layered over wood texture and normal map.
Modeling process in Cinema4D over backplate of illustration.
